Bucks Clubs secure £422,400 Olympic legacy funding

Great news for sporting organisations from Buckinghamshire, who have been awarded a total of £422,400 by Sport England's Inspired Facilities Fund. Inspired Facilities is focused on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into modern grassroots sport facilities.

Bucks Sport is working to bring alive the London 2012 Games for people living in Buckinghamshire. Working with agencies across Bucks and Milton Keynes, we are doing this in different ways ranging from inspiring people to participate in sport to helping more people to volunteer, lead or coach in sport.

New South East Resource from Sport England

Sport England South East have now published a new resource, the Borough Profiler.

The profiler is designed to provide data for the South East region split by CSP, County or LA for key demographics, facilities, Active People, Market Segmentation, Clubmark and Schools Sports, giving a profile of the selected area.

With only 34% of adults in England getting enough physical activity to benefit their health and levels of obesity and associated diseases predicted to rise dramatically, the workplace is increasing being looked upon as a key setting for promoting a more active lifestyle. By active community - cycling or walking to work - many people of working age can easily achieve the recommended level of 30 minutes of moderate activity five times a week.
