High Wycombe Amateur Boxing Club
High Wycombe Amateur Boxing Club is a community project. The object of the Club is to help and educate young people, especially but not exclusively, through boxing and physical fitness training; developing their physical, mental and spiritual capacities so they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.
The aim of the project is to encourage community cohesion and give the local young people a centre to improve well-being, self-esteem, discipline and self defence and to reduce the number of young people on the street.
Youth groups may hire out the premises for Martial Arts, physical fitness and other related youth work projects. The Club is fully equipped with a competition standard Boxing Ring, Punch bags, Ropes, conditioning equipment and much more. The floor space of the main room is 300m2, 100m2 of this will be a durable tatami matted area suitable for Judo and grappling classes. There are male and female changing areas, toilet facilities, kitchen, medical room and a social area.
We currently have around 40 young people training each night at the gym in Leigh Street, just off Green Street, the vast majority of these come from the local area of High Wycombe in a deprived area. Most from low-income families or families on income support.
A number of the young people have competed regionally and nationally and done very well at that standard.
We are looking for sponsorship to help run the club, somewhere in the region of £6,000 a year.
This will go towards much needed equipment, kit, and everyday running of the Club.
Sponsor name will be prominent on all kit and apparel, the sponsor will also be able to put up a banner to promote at all shows.
