This Programme will run from July 2008 until March 2011. As you may know, there are two elements: the endowment match challenge and the small grants programme.
Endowment Match Challenge
This gives TBF the opportunity to build its endowment fund which in turn will enable grants to be given to community groups throughout the county in perpetuity. The Government will almost double every local donation to our endowment fund during the Grassroots Programme through match funding and gift aid!
Small Grants Programme
Between now and March 2011, TBF will be able to award grants on behalf of OTS of between £250 and £5,000. We expect to have around £540,000 over the three years to use in this way. The grants will be directed to small community groups working on a diverse range of projects.
We have also recently increased our own Small Grants programme, so even if a community group does not fit the criteria of Grassroots, please encourage applications, as we may well have an appropriate alternative funding stream.
