The Meadows: The school has a wide variety of play equipment (including Huff & Puff, a variety of balls, basketball hoops) with an expansive playground that includes many markings (eg hop scotch and certain targets). There is enough space for pupils to play extensive team games. Participation of pupils in the schools is extremely high. Simple football skills, such as passing, dribbling and shooting have been introduced to older pupils in the playground, as well as simple bat and ball and throw and catch games, leading to a dramatic improvement in pupils' abilities in this area.
Loudwater: The school has an extensive set of PE equipment (including much Huff & Puff equipment that is put out on the playground on a daily basis so that every pupil has a chance to play with it). The school also benefits from basketball courts, badminton courts, a large field and SAQ equipment. All pupils participate in PE in the school. Simple Huff & Puff ball games have been introduced to Y4 to work on hand-eye co-ordination, team work and communication skllls. Pupils show an improved level of basketball skills - using the ball very effectively to draw defense and set up many opportunities.
Carrington Infant: The school has limited space for PE and sport, with few basketballs, footballs and skipping ropes, but has basketball nets and board game topped tables and different markings on the playground. Simple games using the school's playground markings have been introduced to encourage different thinking methods. Simple basketball skills have also been introduced (ie shooting technique and lay-up shot) resulting in eventual high achievement rate. A successful, small, shooting game has also taken place - successful as pupils enjoyed its competition element.
Juniper Hill: The school has an expansive playground that includes many playground markings, a football and a netball court. Classroom exercises have been introduced into the school in order to increase PE time as well as a reward system piloted across Y2 to find out how much sport activity takes place outside school which was well received (and also helped to increase PE time recording). Games have been introduced using the school's playground markings for younger pupils and simple football skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. Other activities worthy of note are the everyday exercises in the classroom that consist of stretches, balances and mirroring exercises with partners and the teaching of hop scotch variations and different balance activities in the playground.
