The event provided young gymnasts with an ideal opportunity to compete within a safe and fun environment, for many this was their first experience of competitive gymnastics. In the build up to the competition many school based gymnasts trained within local clubs alongside club gymnasts. Having forged new friendships and an enthusiasm for the sport several youngsters intend to become regular members of local clubs where they will further their acrobatic abilities.
The event was thoroughly enjoyable and with luck will become a regular feature at the Bucks Youth Games. The South Bucks team took the gold, with Chiltern and Milton Keynes (North) coming a respectable second and third. Much to the excitement of the gymnasts, medals were presented by Sporting Champion and CBBC presenter Ade Adepitan. The event would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of local club coaches and in particular Brian Duley who provided much support.
