Hockey 'Player Development Centre' and 'Goalkeeper Development Centre' trials

5th April 2007 - Over 750 invitations have been sent out for the 2007 Player Development Centre assessment sessions that will take place across the county at the end of April for girls and boys in age groups U12 - U15.

The assessment sessions and  Player Development Centres (PDC's) will be conducted by experienced, fully qualified coaches, including representatives from the Bucks County coaching team.  Successful players from the  assessments  will be invited to attend one of the  PDC's running in the North, Mid and South of the county for 6 weeks. Successful Goalkeepers will be invited to 2 sessions at a goalkeeping development centre held centrally in the county.   The PDC's aim to develop the individual skills of players who have the potential to play hockey at a county level or above. The  PDC programme will run throughout May and June and will conclude with assessment sessions for next season's Bucks County Hockey squads at the end of July.

This year we have invited Grahame Masell-Grace to lead the Goalkeeper Academy.  Known affectionately in hockey circles as 'Panda', Grahame is a very experienced and highly respected goalkeeping coach who has worked at both Men's National League and International level. Panda has coached with England and Wales Men's teams and the USA women's team. He is currently Assistant Coach at Beeston in the Slazenger EHL Premier League. Many of the goalies in the top teams in the UK have worked with Grahame at some point in their careers.
