A new series of programmes dedicated to improving PE and sport in schools has been launched by Teachers’ TV in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust and the Association for Physical Education. Get Physical features a number of sports stars including double Olympic Champion Dame Kelly Holmes, British Orienteering Champion Heather Monro and Nottingham Forest coach Steven Farrell. All the 15-minute programmes are designed to showcase ways of teaching and inspiring young people about sport in Primary and Secondary schools and cover a number of subjects including:
- Achieving the two-hour/four-hour target of high quality PE and sport
- Setting firm foundations from the earliest years
- Transition between Key Stages
- Maintaining participation and enjoyment
- Positive attitudes to competition
- Inclusion
- Health and Safety
- Additional Support for Teachers
