Week 5 will see the 'Tackle Learning' element of the programme delivered by Community Sports Coach Craig Burgess. These sessions are aimed at educating the children by tackling subjects such as healthy eating, fair play and team cohesion. This combined with the practical Tag Rugby sessions will help the children see the potential they have in living a healthy and active life.

Craig told us, 'The 'Tackle Learning' work we have been doing inside the classrooms is fairly unique and it is very pleasing that a number of the children are very knowledgeable about some of the aspects we have discussed. It is linking their existing knowledge with sport & exercise and having practical examples to use that enables us to improve their overall understanding.'

The last week of the programme will also see the schoolteachers being put through their paces at our Teacher Inset Training Evening on 4th July at High Wycombe RUFC

The teachers will receive training and coaching tips on Tag Rugby coaching sessions before their schools receive Wooden Spoon branded Tag Rugby kit; giving the programme sustainability beyong the funded period of engagement.

Our Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby Festival will take place at London Wasps Community Partner Club High Wycombe RUFC on 11th July.
