It is a game where players are able to rotate positions and adapt their skills to play in any position. The game was developed through extensive consultation with coaches, teachers and physical educationalists.
The game of High 5 sits well with the requirements of Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum and fulfils the aims of the AENA player development model.

A Guide to High 5!
- Girls and Boys in Years 5 and 6
For children aged 9-11 and is intended for use in friendly matches, local and area festivals, school and club coaching and holiday play schemes.
- Encourage a flowing game
Players can build up a range of movement skills and develop the concept of teamwork, whilst improving their health and fitness at the same time.
- Link between First Step Netball and a 7 a side rules
Rules have been tailored to allow players a greater freedom around the court and more time in which to make their decisions and act upon them. The ball, posts and teams are reduced in size.
- Player Centred approach
High five encourages maximum participation from those involved. Each player should play in at least two of the three playing areas during a match. It also introduces the concept of scorers, timekeepers and centre pass markers.
- Promotes fair play
Principles of High Five are enjoyment, fair play, participation for improvement as an individual and within the team rather than winning.
