2008 Bucks Youth Games Results

The Bucks Youth Games is a part of our Legacy Programme for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is an annual competitive multi-sport “Olympic style” event held at venues across the county. The Games Framework is developed by the five local authorities, School Sports Partnerships, Competition Managers and Sports Governing Bodies working through the Bucks & Milton Keynes Sports Partnership.

2008 Summary and Results
Over 1000 young people took part in the Bucks Youth Games 2008, the county's annual 'mini-Olympic' style festival of sport, which took place last Saturday, 7th June at 3 sites across Milton Keynes. The Games included teams from Aylesbury Vale, Chiltern, Milton Keynes, South Bucks and Wycombe competing in 13 different sports. Young people enjoyed competing and many have now joined local sports clubs as a result! As competitions took place officials awarded points to the teams including their team managers, coaches and parents for playing, managing and conducting themselves in the spirit of the games. Congratulations to Milton Keynes who were awarded the 2008 fairplay trophy! Thank you to the event sponsors Sport England, Milton Keynes Partnership and Sport MK and to Milton Keynes Council for hosting the event. Thank you also to all the Local Authorities for co-ordinating teams and to National Governing Bodies for organising competitions. A huge thank you to volunteer and parents for without their support it would not be possible to run such an event.
