We will inform, influence and inspire in order to create an environment in which:
- ethnic minorities can influence and participate in all aspects of sport
- the governors and providers of sport recognise and value a fully integrated and inclusive society
- cultural diversity is recognised and celebrated
In short, we want to see a sporting world that is free from racial discrimination. Because it is fair, because it is right, and because the whole of society will benefit.
In order to achieve our mission we have 3 core objectives:
- To raise awareness and understanding within the sports delivery system in order to change attitudes and increase participation, volunteering and employment
- To empower individuals and communities to play a part in this change and achieve their full potential through sport
- To challenge and support sports leaders to achieve change
Critical Success MeasuresThe 3 key measures which will indicate our progress against our mission over the next 5 years are increases in numbers from ethnic minority communities, who participate, volunteer and are employed in sport.
Our valuesThroughout, our work will be guided by our values:
Equality of opportunity We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be the best they can be, through sport, regardless of their background.
Working in partnershipWe believe in the power of people working together, and know that we will make the most difference through working in partnership.
Passion and courageWithout passion and courage we cannot hope to fully achieve our vision. We expect all those who work with us to share our beliefs, and to inspire them in those we seek to help.
Shaping the futureWe want to see lasting change. We will tackle the very roots of sport to influence new growth for generations to come
