Aces Junior Wheelchair basketball team beat Marvels of Farnborough to win their first competitive match in Birmingham on Sunday 27th January 2008.
The Aces who were competing in the South round of the National Junior Wheelchair Basketball tournament, won a thrilling, but low scoring game 6-4.
Unfortunately it was their only win of the weekend losing the other three matches. However, their performances improved throughout the tournament, and it was a fantastic experience for this newly formed, inexperienced side. The team have been helped greatly by support from the Lady Taverners who funded five new sports wheelchairs.
Aces Juniors can now look to build on their success in the final round of matches, on the 29th March at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury.
