Nigel Moore

Nigel lives in Amersham. He is married with 2 sons and the family are members of many local sports clubs; cycling, tennis, squash, football, hockey and running, but they also take part in other activities such as sailing, skiing, yoga and triathlon.



Nigel originally trained in ICT and served in the Army before his appointment as Chief Executive of England Squash.   He then moved to The Football Association as National Planning and Training Manager where he initiated and implemented business planning systems, ‘The Football Workforce’ and an extensive football development staff network.

He has since worked as the National Club Development Manager for Sport England where he created club policy, including multi–sport development and led the successful growth of Sport England Clubmark accreditation programme with over 40 NGBs and creation of Youth Active to involve national youth organisations in sport and recreation.  He was also instrumental in governance and fiscal development for clubs, including Social Enterprise status and Community Amateur Sport Club (CASC) registration and played a key role in the development of sports sponsorship funding through Sportsmatch.

In his current capacity as a sports consultant, he has undertaken work on development planning, communications strategies and change management process for Regional Sports Boards, County Sports Partnerships and National Sports Governing Bodies, and is currently writing a Foundation Degree on Sports Club Management for Bucks New University.

In a voluntary capacity, Nigel chairs the local Sport and Physical Activity Network (SPAN) for Chiltern and South Bucks area as well as being an active volunteer in his son’s football club, where he is currently preparing the club’s FA Charter Standard application.
