Nathan Robertson
Badminton Mixed Doubles
Nathan Robertson was born in May 1977 in Nottingham. He currently lives as many of the other badminton players in Milton Keynes. Nathan is ranked as one of the world's greatest badminton players and his sights are now firmly set on Beijing 2008. He was introduced to the game at a very young age by his family at age 6. He didn’t become as publically well know until he reached 18 when he hit the spotlight in his England debut against china.
At the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur he won three medals and his other major international achievements include World Championship Bronze (men’s), 4 Grand Prix titles (5 mixed, 1 men’s), 6 Commonwealth medals and European Gold and Silver medals (mixed & men’s doubles). He and his partner Gail Emms won the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in a thrilling final where they were just edged out by defending champions Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China. Following the Olympic Games Nathan had an excellent year in 2005 where he won the All England title and the China Open in mixed doubles with Gail. In 2006 he won Gold at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in the mixed doubles.
