Peter Norfolk is one of the most accomplished tennis players in the world. He has won all four of the wheelchair tennis super series events - in America, Britain, Australia and Japan.
A keen motorsport fan, Peter fractured his spine following a motorbike accident in 1979 after 10 long months of rehabilitation in Stoke Mandeville Hospital he was eventually discharged and set about rebuilding his life.
While he was wondering where to start he discovered wheelchair tennis and it was like a breath of fresh air. Peter had found a sport that he could manage and one that enabled him to play with able-bodied or disabled opposition.
Inspired by the sport and realising the benefits (physical and mental) recreational tennis was soon to give way to the competitive game.
Peter won gold in the Athens Paralympic Games and successfully defended his title in Beijing in 2008 and addressed the Bucks 2012 Conference.
