Profile
D.O.B: 24/1/1980
Hometown: High Wycombe
Competing In: Olympic Games

Rebecca Romero from High Wycombe is the first ever British women to compete in two different sports at the Olympic Games and by winning gold in the individual pursuit at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games she became only the second women of any country to win a medal in two different sports at the summer games!

Romero won an Olympic silver medal  in the quadruple sculls at Athens 2004 Olympic Games, before forging a new career in cycling and took silver in the women’s individual pursuit at the 2007 World Championships in Mallorca behind America's Sarah Hammer.

After taking time away from the sport to allow an injury to heal, she decided to retire from rowing. Approached by British Cycling to try out, she won her first race to become British Champion and made the World Championship team in 2007.
