Nicola Sanders is from Amersham. In 1999 Nicola finished fourth in 400 metres hurdles at World Youth Championships and third in European Junior 400m. In 2008 she took the silver medal at the World Athletics Championships just behind her compatriot Christine Ohuruogo. Nicola made her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She qualified for the semi-finals running a seasons best. Sanders was also a member of the 4x400m relay team which finished 5th in the final.
In 2009 injury interrupted her season yet again after an encouraging start to the season. Nicola is hoping for better luck with injuries in 2010.
