Annie Vernon is a member of Marlow Rowing Club.  Annie won silver in the quad at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, having led the final for the first 1500 metres.

She went to Cambridge University where she rowed in the women's Blue Boat in 2003, but the secret of her progress was in joining GB Rowing's World Class Start Programme in 2002.

In 2007, Annie became World Champion in the women’s quad after an exceptional performance making her the first GB Rowing World Class Start rower to win a senior world medal. At the 2009 World Championships in Poznan, Annie won silver in the double scull.

Interesting Facts
Annie Vernon started rowing at Castle Dore Rowing Club in Cornwall when she was 17, inspired by her father who had also rowed.
