Sportsmatch is a government funded scheme set up to help fund grass roots and community sports in
England.
The scheme does this by matching new sponsorship money with Sportsmatch funding, on a pound for pound basis, thus doubling the impact of your investment.
The scheme is directed at projects which aim to increase participation in sport at grass roots level, and/or improve basic skills and Bucks Sport has an excellent track record of working closely with Sportsmatch.
Sportsmatch was founded in 1992, following a move by a number of people in the sponsorship industry to encourage businesses to invest money in grass roots sports.
In its first 6 months of funding, Sportsmatch had £1 million to distribute and made 61 awards. Since that time, Sportsmatch has grown to an organisation employing eight staff full time. It now has an annual budget of approximately £3.5 million and funds more than 400 projects a year.
