Our greatest Olympian, Sir Steve Redgrave, is urging anyone 16 or over to become a Sport Maker. As he says: “You don’t need medals to become a sporting hero. By helping people you know to get involved in sport you’ll be doing something amazing for your friends and local community as well as having fun yourself.”
Your first step to becoming a Sporting Hero is to register as a Sport Maker using the link below. Then simply sign up for one of the free Sport Maker Events held at iconic sporting venues around Bucks and Milton Keynes.
Once you attend a Sport Maker event, you may know exactly what you would like to do next. But if you’re not sure, don’t panic, we’re here to help! We can support you to find out what you would like to do after attending a Sport Maker event. Maybe you want to set up a new activity? In the case of Duncan (pictured), we arranged for him to attend a course and helped him set up and promote a new Nordic Walking Group where he lives. Or maybe you want to find an existing opportunity that’s right for you – maybe assisting coaches at a local sports club or helping to organise an exciting sports event. The list is endless. Simply get in touch with the Bucks Sport team on 01296 585626 after attending your Sport Maker event, and we can point you in the right direction.
