Despite the forecast of rain, almost 70 people took part in the walks, after which they enjoyed a picnic and celebratory cake, cut by Marion Clayton, Chairman of Buckinghamshire County Council.
Steven Adams, Cabinet Member for Environment, says: “I’m thrilled that Simply Walk is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Over 500 local people take part each week and really enjoy these walks, thanks to our dedicated team of nearly 200 volunteer leaders, some of whom have been giving their free time since 2002 when Simply Walk began.
“Whether you are a seasoned walker or you haven’t walked in a while, there is a walking route for you, and it’s a great chance to get out and meet new people. There’s no need to book, just turn up!”
Simply Walk’s volunteer-led walks run throughout the year with over 50 walking groups across the county. Find out more and download all the walking route details at: http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/bcc/row/simply_walk.page
