There are nineteen local areas in Bucks which aim to deliver services to meet your community's needs. A ‘one size fits all’ approach will not work as every area is different and therefore we need to tailor many of the services we offer to meet the needs of your community.
To achieve this, we looked at neighbouring parishes in the different parts of Buckinghamshire and developed nineteen groups of parishes. These groups, or local areas, enable us to plan and deliver services tailored to the needs of that area.
The purpose of the local area plan is to set out a clear list of local priorities to be addressed and the actions required to tackle these over a three year period.
Sometimes the Local Area Forum (LAF) within each area will be able to work on actions to address one or more of the identified priorities through the allocation of its delegated budgets. There is a LAF in nearly all of the local areas and they each have a budget to spend on meeting some of an area’s priorities.
However, for most of the priorities within the area plan, it is likely that the main role of the LAF will be to act as a coordinating body and catalyst for action. The LAF will be taking an investigative, supportive, developmental, championing and monitoring role.
The area plan should be regarded as an initial set of commitments, which can be added to in the light of emerging opportunities, rather than a fixed agenda that must be adhered to rigidly over the next three years. The LAF and Locality Services team will work closely with our services and partners to enable work to be started on many of the priorities identified.
There is a separate document for each local area plan. However, for ease of use we have listed all the different local area priorities in one document.
If you are a voluntary organisation or a community group offering services and think you can help meet some of the local priorities listed, then please visit the Bucks CC website.
